Oceans Day 2005
Teacher’s Guide
Explore Canada's Special Marine Places

 Come Celebrate With Us!

The Oceans Day partners will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Oceans Day program in Canada on June 8, 2005! Join thousands of other Canadians by taking the first easy steps toward celebrating this year's theme: “Dare to Care — Special Marine Places — Get to Know One.” Inside, you’ll find one simple lesson plan and everything you need to create an inspiring hallway aquatic display. Your students will:

  • investigate some of Canada’s vital and fascinating marine protected areas;
  • create a display that sends a wave of ocean awareness through the school and beyond;
  • learn how they are connected to oceans and how to act locally to protect them through the Blue School program; and
  • celebrate Oceans Day and our collective efforts to protect special marine places.
