A True Blue School

Students at Briarcrest Junior School in Etobicoke, Ontario, certainly demonstrated how "blue," or ocean friendly, they are. Their fundraising efforts resulted in a donation of $2,028 to the Canadian Wildlife Federation in support of research and recovery efforts for the endangered leatherback sea turtle. The federation added to the contribution and turned the money over to the North Atlantic Leatherback Turtle Working Group. The funds were used for an extensive public-awareness campaign aimed at involving fishers in the working group's efforts.
