CD-ROM FROM THE DEEP
Ottawa - Canadian school children from coast
to coast will be able to explore the wonders of Canada's oceans
thanks to the recent release of One Earth, One
Ocean, One Life -- an exciting CD-ROM produced
by the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) and Intoinfo Inc.,
an Ottawa-based multi-media company. This latest initiative
is part of CWF's Learning About Oceans educational program
and celebrates World Oceans Day, June 8th.
One Earth, One Ocean, One Life
was designed to help Canada's youth understand how their lives
are inexorably linked with oceans and how their actions affect
ocean health. The multi-media package supplements a wide range
of classroom subjects, including art, biology, environmental
science, geography, health, history, language arts, and math.
The CD is brimming with resources to help both teachers and
students undertake classroom activities, science projects,
and ocean-action initiatives.
"We're really pleased with this new program,"
says CWF Executive Vice-president, Colin Maxwell. "It brings
a whole new way of learning and exploring oceans and adds
another exciting dimension to the federation's family of conservation
education programs."
One Earth, One Ocean, One Life
was developed with the support of Fisheries and Oceans Canada
and Parks Canada as a legacy of the International Year of
the Ocean (1998).
The sounds, the images, the stories, and the
games are sure to captivate inquisitive, young minds everywhere.
And with the holiday season just around the corner, One
Earth, One Ocean, One Life would make a perfect
gift for the youngsters on your list. Order your copy today
for $24.95 plus shipping and taxes by contacting CWF at 1-800-563-WILD.
